Hey there MUNners! My name is Shana Brouder and I am one of your Secretary Generals for this year's SIDMUN. I am currently a junior at Sewanhaka High School. I have attended conferences at both Rutgers University and American University and I am also currently the President of Sewanhaka's MUN club. Besides Model UN, I am also an active member of Women In Science, Class Board, and Mock Trial. I also play sports at Sewanhaka including both Varsity Soccer and Varsity Lacrosse. I am faithful that this year's SIDMUN will be the best one yet! If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or just want to say "hi" or ask for some advice, don't hesitate to email me personally at SBrouder@hotmail.com. Until then, don't forget, MUN is FUN!
Louis Cona (HFC)
Hey Everyone! I’m Louis Cona, a senior from H. Frank Carey High School and a SIDMUN XVIII Secretary General. I’ve been in Model UN at Carey since 8th grade. This is my third year as a SIDMUN director and I am honored to serve as Secretary General. I have recently debated at SHUMUN, YMUN, RMUN, BosMUN, AUMUNC, PHILMUN and of course SIDMUN. Besides debating for MUN, I enjoy playing sports, hanging out with my friends and practicing karate. I am in many clubs at Carey and even created a club of my own called “Global Awareness” where we discuss global and local issues. The upper staff has been working hard throughout the year to present our delegates with the best experience at this year’s SIDMUN and I’m looking forward to sharing that experience with you all at SIDMUN. You can contact me anytime at louiecona@aol.com
Aaron Weinstock (NHP)
What is going on delegates? My name is Aaron Weinstock and I am one of your three Secretary Generals for this year’s SIDMUN conference. I am a New Hyde Park Memorial High School senior and have been involved in the MUN club since 9th grade. I am now the president of the New Hyde Park chapter and have been to RUMUN, PHILMUN, NHSMUN, AMUN, and of course SIDMUN. MUN has brought me places that I could have never imagined going with my friends, and best of all it has given me the chance to study issues of great importance. Besides MUN, I am also a huge sports fan. I am a Red Sox, Jets, and Duke Blue Devil fanatic. I also play soccer for both a club team and my high school. I recently visited Washington DC to lobby Senator Gillibrand and the lead Public Relations lesion to Vice President Biden concerning the DREAM Act. Without MUN, I would have never considered taking this opportunity but MUN has given me the confidence and tools to be a successful speaker and lobbyist. Good luck at this year’s SIDMUN and if you have any questions about the conference, feel free to email me at aaron.weinstock@yahoo.com. Good luck!
Under Secretary-General of Administrative Affairs
Rory O'Reilly (SHS)
Dear friends,
I am Rory O'Reilly, a current junior at Sewanhaka High School. I will be your USG of Administrative affairs.
Since the 8th grade, MUN has been changing my life one motion at a time. I am currently the Co-Vice President of MUN, President of the Class of 2012, Co-Vice President of Mathletes, Co-Input Editor of the Chieftain, double lawyer for Mock Trial, Secretary of FBLA and Secretary of Senior National Honor society.
Model UN has given me the outlet to safely surge my passion for the art of debate. This mere club that we all take part in has connected us into a brotherhood or sisterhood that only we can truly understand. Could we ever explain sly dubious MUN tricks or the fierce nature of debate to our peers? This pact has brought us closer together, creating a new level of friendship. In the debate room you will always be referred to as the country that you are representing. However, outside of the conference room you will always be referred to as my MUN buddy. This friendship that we all possess will forever connect us.
I would like to thank everyone that has been involved in the SIDMUN process. On behalf of the rest of the SIDMUN staff I'd like to motion for an EXCELLENT conference this year. I'll see you there.
-Rory O'Reilly
Under Secretary-General of Security Council and Historical Committee.

Outside of MUN I’m pretty involved within the school, where I act as President of the National Honor Society, Editor-in-Chief of the Art and Literary Publication, and as President of the English TAG Program. I’m looking forward to seeing all of our preparation pay off, and I really hope that you all have an amazing experience at the conference. Attending and winning conferences at the University of Chicago, Georgetown, Rutgers etc. it has allowed me to build new friendships with people all over the world and foster my love and passion for debate for MUN. It has also set the stage for various hobbies such as Public speaking, and civic work. As the conference nears lets all continue to be motivated by the morals and instruction Mr. Lee Marcus has instilled in all of us. Good Luck to all in their endeavors and God Bless.

Stacy Pierre-Louis (ELM)
Members of the chair and fellow delegates! My name is Stacy Vanessa Pierre-Louis, I attend Elmont Memorial High School and I am more than honored to chair the SOCHUM committee this year. It is my first time chairing but my experience as a delegate started when I was in the ninth grade. Model United Nations is the club membership that is dearest to my heart. I enjoy my time away from school for the substitution of my committee room whether we are in Chicago, Washington DC, New Jersey, or our very own New York. Being aware of problems around the world and expressing concern for the well being of other nations demonstrates the making of a well rounded individual. For this reason I am most proud to share this experience with my fellow delegates. To win at a conference is the most heart warming experience because my competitive nature shines. When I am not caucusing I am on the soccer field or in the classroom. Taking AP courses since I was in ninth grade helps in my wealth of knowledge on conferences and my love for soccer and competition is illustrated in my strive for success. I wish you luck in your future and I know your participation in this club will be only beneficial.
